WHAT WE NEED...

Simply provide us with the digital file on a disc, memory stick or any memory card


FOR OLDER PHOTOGRAPHS NEGATIVES AND SLIDES 

High resolution scanning is also available with surprisingly good results. 

We DO NOT charge for this scanning service but photographs are often scratched or damaged and will need some repair. 

 

Rather surprisingly, the older the photograph, often the better the results. Modern low cost photos are usually very low quality and without any colour balancing, but then they are now only a few pence each! If these require colour adjustment or balancing, this can easily be done.


Finally. any visible marks will be pointed out to you and repair options explained.

 


AND THEN
 

Your photograph is displayed on our screen at up to 30" x 20" for you to see EXACTLY what will be printed and the quality available. At this time any obvious marks, repairs or minor adjustments can usually be made or shown to you.
 

If your print is to be larger than the screen size, we will show sections of the image, ACTUAL SIZE for inspection and approval. 

 

Please see the Oops tab for examples of items that only become obvious when the picture is enlarged...once printed, it is too late. Aunt Iris will always have that cigarette in her hand in your wedding photo, so if you do not see the print actual size and have the opportunity to rectify this first, nobody else will do this for you prior to printing!


 

FOR OLDER PHOTOGRAPHS NEGATIVES AND SLIDES 


We receive e-mails with images attached from our trade clients on a daily basis.

WE WILL ACCEPT RETAIL CLIENT IMAGES BY E-MAIL ON THE FOLLOWING BASIS:

  • The file must be of a size suitable for printing and not be compressed or reduced.
  • It must be sent as an attachment and be no be larger than 3mb
  • The email body text should give details of the approximate printed size required in inches and any cropping, airbrushing or artwork required.
  • The image will be inspected and a short reply sent confirming size suitability and any OBVIOUS repairs or adjustments required. The file WILL NOT be printed without your seeing the image on our screen first OR confirming that a 'blind' print is required. Please remember that your screen is very unlikely to be colour balanced or contrast matched and colours can vary significantly between both domestic computer screens and photographic printers, domestic or commercial.

Payment is required BEFORE any printing commences and this is your acceptance of the image as displayed on screen (whether seen or otherwise)...
